Telemedicine

What is Telemedicine ?

Telemedicine is a concept that refers to the remote delivery of healthcare services using telecommunications and digital technologies. This allows patients and doctors to conduct examinations, diagnoses, follow-ups, and even certain treatment processes without being physically in the same location.

Based on this concept, the telemedicine project developed by Simplex consists of two phases:

Phase 1: The first phase aims to digitize and automate the radiology and laboratory workflows in hospitals by using state-of-the-art PACS, RIS, and LIS systems.

Phase 2: The second phase aims to establish telemedicine infrastructure by connecting local PACS, RIS, and LIS systems to facilitate communication between doctors and patients.

Telemedicine and RAD-X PACS

All products developed by Simplex, including RAD-X, are designed to integrate seamlessly into telemedicine systems. RAD-X is a PACS-based modular system that meets the complete needs of radiology departments, ranging from image archiving to workflow management. The captured images are seamlessly transferred to Teleradiology and e-Nabız systems for further analysis and sharing.

The RAD-X web interface has been developed using the latest web technologies to ensure desktop-level performance within a web-based application. All DICOM images are transmitted to the client with no data loss, offering the functionality of workstations combined with the convenience of web access. RAD-X enables you to manage everything from scheduling to reporting within a single web application.

Flexible Architecture for Integration from Imaging Centers to National Health Systems

RAD-X is designed to cater to hospitals of all sizes, whether standalone imaging centers or integrated networks of multiple hospitals.

  • Customizable Workflow: RAD-X solutions are structured to deliver the most efficient workflow tailored to your specific requirements.
  • VNA Architecture: With its Vendor Neutral Archive (VNA) architecture, RAD-X integrates seamlessly with other systems, irrespective of the vendor.
  • International Standards Compliance: RAD-X adheres to global standards, ensuring smooth compatibility and operation with various external systems.
  • Advanced Synchronization & Integration: RAD-X facilitates easy integration with external systems, offering advanced synchronization and ensuring data consistency across all platforms.

RAD-X’s flexible and adaptable architecture ensures seamless integration in any healthcare environment, whether locally or across national networks.

Seamless Integration with Other Systems

RAD-X is fully compatible with IHE-based systems and supports multiple source and destination combinations, ensuring seamless operation across diverse platforms.

  • HL7, DICOM, and KOS Operations: These operations can be monitored and managed through the Admin Panel, giving users full control and visibility.
  • Data Filtering & Label Transformation: RAD-X allows for the definition of business rules, such as data filtering and label transformation for HL7 and DICOM transfers.
  • Automated Data Mapping & Transfer: RAD-X ensures automated data mapping and transfer, facilitating efficient and accurate data updates across systems.

This seamless integration allows for efficient data exchange and automated updates, streamlining healthcare workflows.

Integration with Third-Party AI Systems

RAD-X integrates bidirectionally with third-party AI systems to enhance diagnostic capabilities and automate workflows.

  • Automated Image Transfer: Define rules to automatically send specific images (e.g., all mammography images) to a designated AI system for specialized analysis.
  • AI Findings Integration: Findings from third-party AI systems are received and displayed as DICOM Structured Reports or Secondary Captures, with annotations and labels directly on the images.
  • User Control Over AI Findings: Users have the flexibility to toggle the visibility of AI findings through the RAD-X interface, offering control over how AI results are presented.
  • Annotation & Overlay Tools for Researchers: RAD-X provides tools for researchers to create annotations and overlays on images, which can be exported to further develop or improve AI applications.

RAD-X’s integration with AI systems optimizes diagnostic workflows, enhances automation, and supports research and development of AI models.
